Martial Arts are a popular sport in Northeast Ohio, from children to adult students and amateur to professional athletes, our community offers clubs and dōjōs for all levels of practice.
Judo, or 柔道 in Japanese meaning “gentle way,” is an unarmed modern martial art with the objective to throw an opponent, immobilize them with a pin, or force an opponent to submit with a joint lock or a choke.
An Olympic sport since the 1960s, the 2024 Pan-American Masters Games is proud to offer the most prominent form of jacket wrestling during the summer games.

Venue
Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland
Tatami, or judo mats, will take over the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland during Summer 2024. Situated in the Grand Ballroom, Judo practitioners will have adequate space to throw, pin and immobilize their opponent on their way to victory.
Cleveland’s convention center is located a close walk to many downtown shops, restaurants and entertainment venues. It’s also close to Lake Erie and some of our favorite outdoor parks and grassy areas.
